A Nursery Owners View
Learning Curve has only been in operation just a year
and a half and I feel so pleased that my dream has come
together over and above my wildest expectations. This is
simply because of all the people involved in making the
Nursery so special. Let me give you just a few examples:
Parents:
A Big thank you to all our parents for encouraging,
reassuring, getting involved…
And giving us feedback, telling us why they chose the
Nursery in the first place. Here are some of their
comments……..
“Its lovely and airy, gives the impression of open
space”
“ The atmosphere in the Nursery is busy but organised.
The children are always busy and involved”
“As we come into the drive my child’s face breaks into a
smile, seems so happy to be at the nursery”
“…she loves the Nursery and would like to be here 7 days
a week , if that was possible”
“We looked at several Nurseries before we decided on
Learning Curve, it seemed clean and tidy, everything
seemed structured and organised and best of all it did
not smell of nappies!”
“I particularly like the friendliness of the staff, the
time they make for me and the high standards that I have
grown to expect and appreciate………….something that I did
not get at the previous nursery”
“ I wish I had Chef cooking for me!”
Children:
Well the children make it all happen! No two days are
the same. Look at the pictures and you will get a
flavour of they get up to. The best part for me is that
Caroline and her team allow me such great indulgence…I
can come and do special sessions and experiments with
the children, read a story or even make up one, play
hide and seek in the garden or simply have lots of hugs
and cuddles.

How
sad is that, I could not wait to get back from
holiday just to see all my little ones! |
Staff:
It’s inevitable that staff will come and go, however the
team we have at present is highly competent,
enthusiastic, imaginative and very hard working. A
measure of their commitment and involvement to the
children’s and their personal development is reflected
in how they turn up for meetings and training sessions
after a long day at work and even some Saturdays. Well
done the Dream Team!
OfSTED: We have had several visits form OfSTED
and welcome their visits and intervention. As a new
Nursery we are responsive to advice and information that
encourage us to raise our standards and improve our
quality management systems.
Alan Butler:
|
Alan is my co
partner and deals with the financial aspects of
the Nursery behind the scenes. Well that's one
of his many roles. |
|
Mostly he is around having great fun with the children,
taking photos, planting, digging, mowing etc. I think
his retirement plan is to be a
|
full time time
groundsman for Learning Curve. The fruits of his
labour are watching the children harvest the
vegetables they have grown. |
|
Architect:
Finally I must not forget Viv Vines MBE the local
architect who has converted my dream into a reality, and
given me this wonderful building.
Sports Day July 2005
Fresh from the triumph of securing the Olympics for
London, the Scouts came to Learning Curve to identify
potential talent for 2012…here are some of the stars of
tomorrow in action:
