Here We
Go Again..
We are well into our third year at
Learning Curve and things are as busy as ever, with lots
of activities to keep everyone on their toes, and that
means parents too! As usual our intrepid photographer
has been capturing some shots of everyday life at
Learning Curve.
On the next page there is a
special feature on our recent parents evening. This is
when our parents can find out what their little ones get
up to all day and we get a chance to find out what Mums
and Dads are really made of…

Pancake
Race
Shrove Tuesday normally comes as a
sign that Spring is round the corner, but it did not
seem so this year. Although the sun was shining brightly
on the children as they raced up and down the garden
path with their frying pans, a biting North wind was
doing its best to blow the pancakes off into the
football field. Fortunately, as all oldies know, little
ones don’t feel the cold—they were too busy having a
great time.

Chef had made some extra heavy duty
mixture to ensure that the pancakes survived all the
tossing and turning so even though some childrens’ feet
hardly touched the ground, the pancakes stayed firmly in
place.

Meanwhile some of the younger ones
had made their own pancakes, as demonstrated here. Very
nice they were too, even if they were a little square at
the edges and had a slightly cardboard flavour…..

……..in fact they were far too good to
risk running with—this was more of a cake walk than a
pancake race.

Some were more ambitious and went for
the aerial approach…

.. ..while this bunch experimented
with frying pans as percussion instruments, tennis
rackets and weapons of war……..
