Dressing
Up
All children love to dress up, and our children are
no different. Dressing up is an important part of
the child’s learning process: |
Putting
on a funny hat or daddy’s shoes - the exploration of the
environment; Wearing a nurse’s uniform or putting on a
toy hard hat and wielding a plastic screwdriver - that’s
knowledge and understanding of the world.

Messing
Up
Equally important for children is
getting messy. There is no better way to understand the
texture and smell of something than by putting your
hands in it and, if you must, spreading it all over your
face. |
OK Riley first of all you put it on your hands like this
No, not on your face!
You
talking to me?
Ooh! I love your foundation |

Dressing Up
For Halloween
once upon a time there were two little
pumpkins... |
….and two bigger pumpkins |
“Do they
serve pumpkins in this café?”
“ I don’t think they serve
anyone – I’m still waiting for my tea” |
There’s trouble brewing |

Discovery &
Learning
The children at Learning Curve have all sorts of
exciting adventures every week at Nursery. A walk down
to Jubilee Lake is a major expedition for the twos and
that means taking emergency rations |
Periodically the people from ZooLab come along
and the children get the chance to meet some unusual
animals. Spiders and snakes… |
..frogs and mice |
.. snails and bats are always popular but this guinea
pig was certainly one of the cuddliest animals. |
Even
cleaning our teeth can be a learning experience, as the
babies could tell you.
(well if their mouths weren’t full of
toothpaste they could....)
Now as for bonfire night, we can make a guy, build a
bonfire… |
and then watch the guy go up in smoke - that involves
art, craftwork, mechanics, physics… |
But it’s not too difficult for the babies to enjoy
