Strange Goings On In Shamba

 

     
     

Well actually it’s the photographer from the local newspaper come to do a story on our new outdoor developments in the Shamba. Shamba is a Swahili word meaning “plot of land or farm”. The Shamba is Learning Curve’s woodland area. This is where the principals of the “Forest School” are put into play. Here the children give their imaginations full rein, playing only with objects they can find in the natural environment: sticks, leaves, grass and stones etc.   And the stone fire circle is just one of the projects completed by the team one fine October Saturday to enhance the children’s outdoor learning experience. In addition to our living willow house and the rope climb, there are two different types of bug habitat, a log corner, a collection frame for tying string and rope and hanging art, …….
